There is big good news for the super car lovers from Audi. Not long before in March 2011, did Audi launch the most anticipated Audi R8 Spyder roadster in India. Now the German luxury car manufacturer is already gearing up for the next generation Audi R8 super car and the next generation Audi R8 Spyder
roadster versions in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The German
engineering has taken a huge leap with some innovative technologies to
enhance the performance and fuel efficiency of the two Audi cars
to the next level. The Audi cars are lighter by 60 kg and odd to cut
down the weight to 1500 kg boosting the performance to an all-time high.
The Audi R8
super car powered by the 4.2 L V8 engine is now made to deliver 450 Bhp
peak power while the power-packed driving experience of the Audi R8
Spyder roadster version with 5.2 L V10 engine is improved to churn out
550 Bhp maximum power. Both of them will be mated with the seven speed
dual clutch gearboxes.
Have you ever heard the fuel efficiency of the super cars improved by
around 120%? Well, that seems to have happened with the Audi R8 super
car and the Audi R8 Spyder roadster. The super car and the roadster
versions offering a mileage numbers of about 5 kmpl is now expected to
see an improvement to 10.9 kmpl. The Audi engineers claim to have
achieved a drastic improvement in the fuel efficiency numbers mostly
attributed by the use of carbon fibre and other weight reducing
materials, while this is not all. The start/stop mechanism in the 2014
Audi R8 super car and the 2015 Audi R8 Spyder with new braking system
incorporated are believed to have brought the impressive changes.
Moreover, an innovative Sailing technology has been used in the new Audi
cars where the engine idles while running downhill save the fuel in the
process resulting to the bettered fuel efficiency numbers. The Audi R8
super car and the Audi R8 Spyder roadster in India presently offers a
peak power output of 425 Bhp and 525 Bhp from the V8 and V10 engines
respectively.
