The 2012 BMW S 1000RR Arrives In India

Delhi industrialist Samir Thapar will bag the first red and white BMW S 1000RR
Rumor has it that BMW’s 2012 S 1000 RR has already landed in India, but if you want to be the first to get your hands on this world class superbike, it may already be too late. According to BMW, two bikes have been spoken for in Delhi, with the first ever red and white model belonging to Delhi's supercar connoisseur and managing director of JCT Ltd, Samir Thapar.
So what's all the hype about? After revolutionising the world superbike market in 2009 with the original launch of the BMW S 1000 RR, no one really thought this bike could get any better. It boasts of an anti-lock braking system, optional electronic traction control, an engine power of 142 kW (193 hp) which peaks at 305 km/h – we couln't ask for anything more.
Generally it’s not in our nature to mess with a good thing but the new 2012 S 1000 RR has some remarkably badass updates that are definitely worth mentioning.
Starting with its new suspension you will find geometric modifications at both the front and rear suspenders for improved steering and head angle.
There have been no updates to the BMW S 1000 RR’s engine power and weight of 204 kilograms (206.5 weight with Race ABS) but you can expect to see a reconfigured throttle for an enhanced response in Rain, Sport, Race, and Slick modes with rain mode now at 120 kW (163 hp).
Apart from these highlights riders can also look forward to this years new color schemes. Although we have grown fond of BMW’s classic red, white and blue coloring this year BMW is offering riders two additional new colour combinations featuring a Racing red and Alpine white, and a solid Sapphire black metallic model with each sporting black glossy wheels and a redesigned LCD engine speed display with five dimming levels.
You may have missed being the first to own the 2012 S 1000 RR in India, but if you're ready to be number three you can find BMW's newest edition in India for Rs. 25,50,000.
